When the Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences, AAPS, decided to update their brand identity and logo, they tracked down Grant Sanders, founder of SAND for the assignment.
Sanders explains why that was not easy. “AAPS Board member and college friend, Geoff Notkin got in touch while I was on my trip around the world and I was able to create a new logo for this established non-profit.”
“The ideas were generated in the Galapagos Islands, refined in Mexico City and finalized in Japan, Sanders added.
Each piece features custom created handwriting, stamps, photos and weathered typography for an authentic look and feel.
“The rebranding for the Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences is a project of major significance to the organization and the worldwide paleontology community,” said Geoffrey Notkin President of the AAPS, “So, of course, I turned to Grant Sanders of SAND Studio. We have known each other for decades and have worked together on several projects including creative for the National Space Society.”
