In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, MountainOne is giving educators something better than apples.

The Massachusetts community bank is delivering free activity boxes to first-grade classrooms in the cities and towns it serves to help teachers introduce their students to early lessons in financial literacy.

Inside the box is a series of three storybooks created by MountainOne and Boston creative agency HATCH to introduce kids as young as 5 to foundational financial lessons through adventure and storytelling, plus activity sheets, plush toys, and swag that go along with the stories.

Illustrated by Laura Salafia and authored by Doug Murphy, the books feature Mo the Mountain Goat, MountainOne’s brand “spokesgoat,” learning age-appropriate lessons about financial themes like the importance of planning for the future, the power of saving, and the value of hard work.

“75% of Gen Alpha kids want more personal finance education,” says Murphy, HATCH’s Creative & Brand Director. “By delivering these storybooks to classrooms in their communities, MountainOne is helping kids take the first steps down the right financial path.”
